Dear IUCN Member,
I am honored and humbled that IUCN members have placed their confidence in me to lead IUCN as its next President. Thanks to the work of the IUCN Secretariat, more members casted votes in these elections than during any of the past three Congresses. I pledge to live up to the great responsibility and trust you have placed in me at this critical moment.

I look forward to working closely with the newly elected members of IUCN Council, our Regional Councillors and Chairs of Commissions. As your new President, I will endeavor to build a culture of strong governance and instill values that foster collaboration, decisiveness and accountability.
Finally, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for electing me as the first Arab woman president in IUCN history. In doing so, you have inspired countless women and young people in West Asia and around the world who aspire to accomplish their dreams. They are our future, and our greatest hope for a better tomorrow.
